Education

Going back to school is something that many folks transitioning out of the military decide to do. In addition to the many skill sets that you may have built during your time in the service, going back to school is an opportunity to prepare yourself for success in a new career and have a fun and beneficial transition back into the civilian workforce. While going back to school is not for everybody, it is certainly something that should be considered by all service members getting out of the service. There are several options in going back to school and getting an education – and several considerations and requirements for each. We outline below the basics on going back to school:

Undergraduate Degrees: Typically for someone who has finished high school or high school equivalency (Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, etc.)

Graduate Degrees: Typically for someone who already has an Undergraduate Degree and is pursuing a degree in a specific area of expertise (MBA, Law Degree, PHD, etc.)

Community College: Typically for someone who is seeking an alternative to a four year degree at a significantly lower price point or an associate's degree.

Professional Trade Schools and Vocational Schools: Typically for someone who desires to pursue a particular trade (Automotive Mechanic, Welding, etc.)
